Job summary

Jobot is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant II (Staff/Senior level) in Millersville, MD, to support the Controller across all accounting functions. The role emphasizes project accounting, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and a durable 365-based technology stack.

3+ years of accounting experience and a CPA-to-be are valued. This on-site, permanent position includes a competitive salary ($70,000–$100,000) and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with financial statements and budgets.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• CPA certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, as well as resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
• Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries.
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new systems and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting process.
