Job summary

McLaughlin Research Corporation in New London CT is seeking an Accountant with 5-8 years of relevant experience to support month-end close, financial statements, tax filings, and reporting. The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, and cost pool maintenance.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in MS Excel, familiar with GAAP, and highly organized to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines. DoD/government contractor experience and Deltek Costpoint familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiar with GAAP and accounting standards.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Extremely well organized and able to handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Highly detail-oriented.
• DoD/government contractor-based accounting experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with Cost Pools and Deltek Costpoint (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and adjustments.
• Provide detailed analysis of general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
• Monitor transactions to ensure accurate recording of revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities.
• Maintain Chart of Accounts, Cost Pools and Financial Statement Configuration.
• Prepare monthly and year-end closings and work papers for auditors.
• Prepare and file various tax returns and related reporting.
