Job summary

Avathon Government in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain financial integrity and GAAP/CAS/FAR compliance. You will lead monthly statements, internal controls, and support audits including DCAA, while partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, revenue calculations under ASC 606, cost accounting, cash forecasting, and maintaining the general ledger.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• 5+ years of government/defense accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• Experience with banking transactions.
• Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint and government accounting.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong problem solving, analysis, and communication.
• Discretion, organization, and program management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, CAS and FAR in deliverables.
• Prepare and interpret monthly financial statements for senior management.
• Oversee receivables, billing, payroll, accounts payable, contracts, fixed assets, and GL.
• Support ASC 606 revenue accounting calculations.
• Utilize Deltek Costpoint; support planning and BI for financial activity.
• Assist with audits including DCAA compliance.
• Maintain balance sheet, cash management, and forecasting.
• Liaise with staff and auditors to respond to requests.
• Develop indirect rate structures, budgets, forecasts, and cost submissions.
• Review AP/AR/Billing/Internal Controls regularly.
• Identify revenue and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support federal and state tax returns and payments.
• Conduct special projects as assigned.
