Job summary

BDO USA seeks an Experienced Senior, Outsourced Finance & Accounting Associate to manage full cycle general accounting for Government Contracting clients. You will oversee GL, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and project accounting while ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance/Business Admin and 3+ years in GovCon accounting; CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Three or more years of progressive accounting experience in government contracting.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs full cycle general accounting for GovCon clients.
• Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and GAAP statements.
• Supports revenue recognition, contract accounting, and accounting policies per GovCon regulations.
• Ensures compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA and federal contracting regulations; maintains a DCAA-compliant system.
• Assists with indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing support.
• Handles project setup, funding, labor charging, invoicing, cost allocations, profitability and closeout.
• Monitors funding, financial performance, and project costs to ensure contract compliance.
• Supports budgeting, forecasting, indirect rate planning, and financial analysis for executive decisions.
