Job summary

Avathon Government seeks a Senior Accountant to maintain accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls in support of GAAP, CAS, and FAR compliance. The role will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors, ensuring timely financial deliverables and adherence to government accounting standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in government accounting, CPA preferred, and hands-on Deltek Costpoint and advanced Excel experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within government/defense.
• US Citizenship required.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and government accounting standards (GAAP/CAS/FAR).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and interpret monthly financial statements for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, CAS and FAR and support DCAA audits.
• Maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate annual independent audits and indirect cost submissions.
• Reconcile receivables, payables, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Support tax return preparation and research complex accounting issues.
