Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the accounting team in Easton, MD. You will handle month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while supporting payroll, vendor management, and tax activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant or similar role.
• Strong experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with payroll, tax-related accounting, or vendor management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete month-end close and general ledger accounting, including reconciliations and journals.
• Analyze account balances, transactions and variances to identify discrepancies and root causes.
• Process and reconcile sales commissions, quarterly incentive payments, and benefit accounts; assist payroll tax issues.
• Handle accounts payable and vendor accounting, AP aging and reconciliations.
• Complete tax and compliance activities, including 1099s and property tax tasks.
• Provide accounting and financial reporting support to Controller, including budgeting and forecasts.
• Collaborate with accounting team and other departments to improve processes.
