Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team in the Philadelphia area. The role offers broad exposure across general accounting, financial reporting, and operational accounting within a large, established organization.

Responsibilities include month-end close, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, freight accounting, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of accounting experience, Freight accounting experience is preferred, and strong Excel/ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong experience with month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Freight accounting experience, including expenses, accruals, and reconciliations, preferred.
• Fixed asset accounting experience preferred.
• Distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or similar industry experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in the wholesale, retail, or manufacturing industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and reclasses.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
• Support freight and other operational expense accounting.
• Analyze P&L and balance sheet activity and explain fluctuations.
• Assist with financial reporting and audit requests.
• Partner with teams across the organization to resolve accounting issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
