Job summary

RKL Virtual Management Solutions LLC in Lancaster, PA, seeks a Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting tasks, post sales, control expenses, and perform initial reviews of financial statements for clients.

You will prepare month-end close, balance sheets, and income statements, address client questions within 24 hours, and help improve financial systems while maintaining internal controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years general accounting and payroll experience.
• CPA certification or other relevant certification is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work autonomously under tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR), and prepare and enter month-end adjusting journal entries
• Prepare comprehensive financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, financial analyses, and highlight budget variances
• Set priorities and review the work of team members, including payroll journals, bank transaction coding, and month-end journal entries, and ensure staff adhere to best practices and internal controls
• Update accounting software with client data and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Prepare for, schedule, and conduct client meetings, ensuring thorough preparation and follow-up on identified tasks, and maintain effective client communication
• Promptly respond to client inquiries and requests for information within 24 hours while maintaining high-quality customer service
• Prepare workpapers, review financial statements for accuracy
• Develop a deep understanding of client industries and accounting operations, and contribute to the improvement of financial systems and processes
• Retrieve bills from vendor sites and conduct bank and expense management reconciliations
• File, pay, and track sales tax, ensuring compliance with deadlines and maintaining accurate records
• Assist and support team members with bill coding, client questions, and fill in for absent teammates as needed
• Perform additional responsibilities and adapt to client needs for month-end closing and other accounting tasks
