Job summary

RKL LLP in Allentown, PA is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting tasks, post sales and expenses, and review financial statements for clients to ensure accurate postings.

The role includes month-end closing, preparing balance sheets and income statements, analyzing variances, and supporting the Client Service Team with timely, clear financials and responsive client communication. This position requires meeting tight deadlines and maintaining strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of general accounting and payroll experience in a corporate setting.
• CPA certification or other relevant certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR), and prepare and enter month-end adjusting journal entries
• Prepare comprehensive financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, financial analyses, and highlight budget variances
• Set priorities and review the work of team members, including payroll journals, bank transaction coding, and month-end journal entries
• Update accounting software with client data and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Prepare for, schedule, and conduct client meetings, ensuring thorough preparation and follow-up
• Promptly respond to client inquiries and requests for information within 24 hours
• Prepare workpapers, review financial statements for accuracy
• Develop understanding of client industries and accounting operations
• Retrieve bills from vendor sites and conduct bank and expense management reconciliations
• File, pay, and track sales tax, ensuring compliance with deadlines
• Assist and support team members with bill coding and client questions
