Job summary

Harbinger Health is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join a fast-growing team in Cambridge. You will lead month-end close, manage inventory cost and revenue accounting, and support external audits while maintaining strict GAAP compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a meticulous, detail-oriented approach. CPA is a plus, with NetSuite or similar ERP experience beneficial in a biotech-like startup setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Ability to calculate inventory records and support journal entries.
• Understand financial data security and confidentiality policies.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel.
• Team player in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain inventory accounting and cost of sales records per U.S. GAAP.
• Support monthly revenue accounting and financial statement prep per GAAP.
• Manage employee expense reimbursements and approval workflows.
• Oversee accounts payable and 1099/use tax filings.
• Review payroll data from third-party provider for accuracy.
• Support technical accounting memos for non-routine transactions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit deliverables.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies as the company scales.
• Collaborate with finance and other departments to enable cross-functional work.
