Harbinger Health is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join a fast-growing team in Cambridge. You will lead month-end close, manage inventory cost and revenue accounting, and support external audits while maintaining strict GAAP compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a meticulous, detail-oriented approach. CPA is a plus, with NetSuite or similar ERP experience beneficial in a biotech-like startup setting.

Harbinger Health is seeking an experienced and talented accounting professional to join our dynamic, high-growth organization.

As the experienced Staff or new Senior Accountant at Harbinger Health, you will play a key role in the company's accounting operations and will be responsible for performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparation, verifying financial records and transactions, and performing other duties as assigned in an efficient and timely manner. The ideal candidate has strong financial analytic and Excel skills, is detail-oriented, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment. Responsibilities

• Lead assigned aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and analysis of account activity.
• Maintain accurate inventory accounting and cost of sales records, ensuring timely and accurate valuation in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support monthly revenue accounting.
• Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and related reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Administer the employee expense reimbursement process, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely approvals.
• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely invoice processing, payment execution, vendor support, and compliance with applicable reporting requirements, including annual 1099 and use tax filings.
• Review and reconcile bi-weekly payroll data provided by the third-party payroll provider to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to processing.
• Support the research and documentation of technical accounting for complex or non-routine transactions.
• Coordinate audit deliverables and serve as a primary Finance contact for external auditors during interim and annual audits.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies as the company scales.
• Maintain effective relationships with the finance team and other departments to ensure effective and efficient cross functional collaboration.
• Assists finance leadership with ad-hoc initiatives.
• Continue to improve processes for all areas of responsibility.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including time in public accounting and/or a corporate accounting role.
• Proven ability to calculate inventory records and journal entry support, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Thorough understanding of financial application security, ensuring that all financial data are secure and comply with confidentiality policies.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Flexible, personable team-player, comfortable in a fast-paced, small, high-growth company environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license, or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Experience in a life sciences, biotech, or healthcare company.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
• Experience operating in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Prior experience supporting external audits and preparing technical accounting memos.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $123,900. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
