Job summary

Joseph Hollander & Craft is seeking a Senior Accountant & Billing Manager to oversee the billing team of three coordinators and bridge between billing and finance. The role also partners with the accounting manager on accounts payable, general ledger, payroll and firm financial planning.

The ideal candidate has experience in billing management, accounting/finance, ERP systems, and knowledge of the legal sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience managing billing, preferably in the legal sector.
• Experience in accounting, finance or similar role.
• Experience working with enterprise resource planning software.
• Experience using TABS3 ERP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee billing team of three, manage accounts receivable and billing cycles.
• Assist accounting manager with accounts payable and vendor invoices.
• Support monthly reconciliations and close processes for GL.
• Collaborate on payroll oversight and benefits management.
• Contribute to budget prep and variance analysis (FP&A).

Position Overview

Joseph, Hollander & Craft is seeking a detail-oriented, leadership-focused Senior Accountant & Billing Manager to (1) oversee our team of three billing coordinators, functioning as the bridge between billing staff and finance, and (2) work closely with our accounting manager to manage accounts payable, general ledger, payroll and perform firm financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing team manager / accounts receivable

• Supervise team of three billing coordinators, building an atmosphere of collaboration with finance
• Direct monthly billing cycle processes, including managing system configurations

2. Accounts payable

• Assist accounting manager with processing and paying vendor invoices
• Manage expense requests by lawyers and staff

3. General ledger

• Assist accounting manager with monthly reconciliations
• Assist with monthly and annual close

4. Payroll

• Work with accounting manager to monitor and approve staff time
• Manage finance-side employee benefits

5. FP&A

• Assist with budget preparation
• Perform budget variance analysis
