Job summary

Newpark, based in Katy, TX, seeks a Senior Accountant to manage fixed assets, ASC 842 lease accounting, and tax compliance, ensuring accurate US GAAP reporting. The role supports cost accounting and process improvements across the accounting function.

The candidate will maintain the fixed asset subledger, run monthly reconciliations, and assist with close processes while collaborating with internal teams and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proficiency in FA and Lease accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Oracle accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fixed asset subledger including capitalization, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
• Review CIP activity and support project closeouts.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of fixed asset balances to GL.
• Manage operating and finance leases under ASC 842, including data maintenance.
• Record lease entries and support lease disclosures and reporting.
• Support sales/use tax compliance and audits.
• Prepare monthly variance analyses and assist monthly/quarterly close.
