Branch is hiring a senior accountant to join a data-driven finance team in Columbus, OH. This role blends core accounting—month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting—with hands-on AI work to automate repetitive processes.

You will support investment accounting, ensure GAAP/statutory compliance, and teach others how to operate and maintain the automation you build. Remote-first with occasional visits to the Columbus office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of corporate accounting experience with month-end close and reporting.
• Investment accounting experience or proven ability to learn quickly.
• Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience applying AI to real work and automating processes.
• Ability to teach and hand off automation to others.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, reconciliations, and recurring reporting.
• Manage investment accounting entries, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Prepare state compliance filings and related forecasts.
• Standardize how new insurance programs are handled across the platform.
• Develop and deploy AI-enabled automation for accounting processes.
• Maintain GAAP, statutory, and regulatory compliance with controls.
