Join our team as: Senior Accountant

What You Will Do

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Controller, or Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for department-wide accounting functions, including complex fiscal and cost accounting, billings/invoicing, revenue recovery reconciliation, banking and accounting transactions, financial management, ERP system analysis, and reconciliation duties. The role also involves mentoring junior staff, preparing financial statements, analyzing funds, and developing projections to ensure financial accuracy and compliance across multiple systems.

Full-Time, Exempt. Schedule TBD

Salary Range

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range is $43.99 to $56.14 per hour, based on experience and other factors.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):

Qualifications

Knowledge of accounting principles, auditing, nonprofit and governmental accounting, budgeting, relevant legislation, and regulatory requirements including GAAP and GASB standards. Familiarity with automated accounting systems, software, and spreadsheet applications. Principles of office management and automated financial reporting.

Abilities

Ability to plan, evaluate, and supervise accounting activities and staff; analyze complex financial data; prepare financial statements and reports; communicate effectively; establish effective working relationships; exercise sound judgment; and utilize computer applications supporting accounting functions.

Education and Experience:

• B.S. or M.A. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration from an accredited institution.
• Four (4) years of professional experience in accounting and auditing at the Staff and Lead Accountant levels.
• CPA license may substitute for one year of experience.
• Additional experience in nonprofit or public entities is preferred.
