Job summary

Hoxton Circle is assisting a private equity-backed platform in the US to hire a Most Senior Accountant. This role manages month-end close and three-statement reporting for a growing portfolio of regional firms, delivering results to senior leadership.

You'll own the close process, present variance analysis and commentary to CEOs, and coordinate with an offshore shared services team. Remote work is available, with quarterly in-person meetups and a base salary of $110K–$120K plus bonus and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of audit and industry.
• Hands-on close experience in an industry setting, within a larger organization.
• Strong US GAAP and full financial statement preparation.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and full three-statement reporting for your portfolio.
• Deliver to a business-day 10 close.
• Be the go-to accounting contact for each firm; present results, variance analysis and commentary to firm CEOs, presidents and senior leadership.
• Bring newly acquired firms into the close process and support the purchase accounting.
• Work with an offshore shared services team, help with audit and tax, and accelerate the close.
• Continue leveraging AI in close processes and drive further improvements.

Most Senior Accountant roles keep you behind a spreadsheet. This one will put you in the room with the people running the businesses.

Our client is a private equity-backed platform that acquires and grows regional businesses across the US, and it's still buying at pace. They've created a brand new Senior Accountant role to own the monthly close and reporting for a portfolio of their businesses, spread across the country, with newly acquired firms added as they join.

What you'll do

You'll own month-end close and full three-statement reporting for your portfolio, delivering to a business day 10 close. You'll be the go-to accounting contact for each firm, presenting results, variance analysis and commentary directly to firm CEOs, presidents and senior leadership. You'll bring newly acquired firms into the close process and support the purchase accounting, work with an offshore shared services team, help with audit and tax, and keep making the close faster. The team already uses AI heavily and wants someone who'll push that further.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of audit and industry.
• Hands-on close experience in an industry setting, within a larger organization
• Strong US GAAP and full financial statement preparation.

Big pluses:

• multi-entity consolidation
• M&A integration or PE roll-up experience
• Big 4 or large regional firm background
• CPA or working toward it
• Workday, FloQast, Ramp or CCH.

This position is fully remote (prefrence for Eastern or Central time zone), with quarterly in-person meetups and offers A base between $110K - $120K plus bonus and strong benefits.
