Overview
Our client is a growing, private‑equity‑backed healthcare company seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance team. This role will work very closely with the VP of Finance and is intended for someone the VP can trust as a true thought partner. Someone who is an accountant who thinks clearly through processes, exercises sound judgment, and takes full ownership of the balance sheet in a complex, multi‑entity environment.
This is not a transactional role. We are looking for a business‑minded, critical thinker who understands how accounting decisions connect to operations, growth, and performance.
Title: Senior Accountant
Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000
Responsibilities
- Balance Sheet Ownership, Close & Consolidations
- Own the balance sheet end‑to‑end across multiple legal entities
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet roll‑forwards
- Perform and review account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and judgment
- Lead month‑end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated financials
- Manage and support intercompany accounting and eliminations
- Perform variance analysis across entities and clearly explain drivers to the VP of Finance
- Business Partnership
- Develop a strong understanding of the company’s healthcare operations, revenue flows, and cost structure
- Partner closely with the VP of Finance to evaluate accounting implications of operational, financial, and strategic decisions
- Identify risks, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities within a growing multi‑entity structure
- Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive process improvements related to close, consolidations, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Work extensively in large erp system to improve efficiency, reporting, and consolidation workflows
- Assist with documentation and refinement of accounting policies and procedures as the organization scales and adds entities
- Oversee and mentor 2 AP/AR staff accountants
- Review work product, ensure consistency across entities, and provide coaching and development
- Help build scalable processes that support growth, acquisitions, and future complexity
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA strongly preferred
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience consolidating multiple legal entities
- Strong ownership of the balance sheet in a complex or multi‑entity environment
- Hands‑on experience with NetSuite or SAP preferred
- Experience with intercompany accounting, eliminations, and roll‑ups
