Job summary

SBI Partners seeks a Senior Accountant for a growing, private equity-backed healthcare organization. This fully remote role focuses on month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting acquisitions as the company scales to new locations.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and hands-on ASC 842 and purchase accounting expertise. You will own close processes and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience with ASC842 entries, purchase accounting, NWC calculations preferred

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support year-end close and external audit preparation, including schedules, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and workpapers.
• Prepare net working capital calculations and analyze key working capital accounts.
• Assist with ASC 842 lease accounting entries and supporting schedules.
• Assist with purchase accounting and other acquisition-related accounting activities.
• Support financial reporting, account analysis, and research of unusual activity or discrepancies.

Job description

We are partnering with a growing, private equity-backed healthcare organization looking to add a Senior Accountant to its accounting team. The company has expanded to nearly 40 locations through acquisitions and has plans for continued growth, targeting 15+ new locations in 2027. This role will be involved in month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses. It's an opportunity to join a growing accounting function, take ownership of key responsibilities, and help improve processes as the business continues to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Take an active role in the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support year-end close and external audit preparation, including schedules, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and workpapers.
• Prepare and maintain ASC 842 lease accounting entries and supporting schedules.
• Assist with purchase accounting and other acquisition-related accounting activities.
• Prepare net working capital calculations and analyze key working capital accounts.
• Support financial reporting, account analysis, and research of unusual activity or discrepancies.
• Take ownership of recurring responsibilities while supporting special projects and emerging priorities as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of prior experience out of public or corporate accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience with ASC842 entries, purchase accounting, NWC calculations preferred
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Fully remote. Preference for candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones.
