Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing, collaborative accounting team in Colorado. This role focuses on the monthly close, financial reporting, account analysis, and driving improvements in accounting processes.

You will own key close activities, prepare entries, analyze balances, support audits, and partner with operational leaders to enhance financial visibility and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and full accounting cycle understanding.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities

• Take ownership of key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
• The Senior Accountant will research and explain budget-to-actual and period-over-period variances
• Maintain supporting schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other accounts
• Support annual audits and provide documentation requested by external auditors
• Help strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies
• Partner with operational leaders to resolve accounting questions and improve financial visibility
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, and increase efficiency

Senior Accountant Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5 + years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with ASC 606 & 842 preferred, not required
• Strong understanding of GAAP and the full accounting cycle
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with an ERP or other accounting system
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
