Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant-Corporate Accounting to join the team.
Position Summary
A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. This position will support the monthly close, reconciliations, cash and treasury accounting, payroll and benefits accounting, fixed assets, financial reporting, and audit process across multiple entities.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional who can take ownership of recurring responsibilities, investigate discrepancies, and work effectively with finance, HR/payroll, FP&A, and business-unit leaders. The role also offers opportunities to improve processes and leverage automation and technology to make accounting operations more efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including accruals, journal entries, allocations, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations, monitor outstanding items, and assist with daily cash reporting.
- Record and reconcile payroll, benefits, PTO, payroll taxes, insurance, and retirement-related accounts.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate, well-supported reconciliation workpapers.
- Manage fixed asset activity, including additions, disposals, depreciation, construction-in-progress, and subledger-to-GL reconciliations.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and allocations across multiple entities.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, and account follow-up.
- Partner with FP&A to research expense variances and provide supporting financial analysis.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audits, benefit plan audits, and other compliance requirements.
- Assist with tax-related reconciliations and filings as assigned.
- Maintain accounting procedures and identify opportunities to improve and standardize processes.
- Utilize ERP and reporting systems to support accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Explore automation, AI, and other technology solutions to reduce manual accounting work.
- Work with the Corporate Controller, FP&A, HR/payroll, and business-unit finance teams on special projects and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-4 years of professional accounting experience, preferably including public accounting or audit.
- CPA license, CPA candidate, or eligibility to pursue the CPA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Experience preparing audit schedules and working with external auditors.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP system; Oracle Fusion experience is a plus.
- Exposure to fixed assets, payroll accounting, cash management, or multi-entity accounting preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines while working independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable working with confidential financial and employee information.
