Taylor White is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Tampa Bay area. The role offers a hybrid work model with a path to management, exposure to the full close cycle, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with a global accounting team.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and a collaborative, team-first mindset. CPA in progress or MBA is preferred. Local candidates only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience across public, industry, or both.
• CPA (in progress) and/or MBA preferred.
• Hands-on ownership of close activities.
• Advanced Excel proficiency with large data sets.
• Working knowledge of a large-scale ERP platform.

Responsibilities

• Manage segments of the monthly close through completion within the timeline.
• Develop and record advanced journal entries for estimates, timing adjustments, and cost allocations.
• Complete periodic general ledger reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Analyze period-over-period fluctuations and explain drivers.
• Maintain close calendars, task trackers, and hand-offs as the function scales.
• Identify inefficiencies in the close and propose improvements.
• Provide final QA of monthly results for leadership review.
• Apply GAAP and internal policy consistently and maintain controls.
• Prepare recurring reporting packages and supporting schedules.
• Prepare audit deliverables and respond to inquiries from reviewers.
• Advance workstreams through year-end close and statements.

Responsibilities

• Manage designated segments of the monthly close through completion within the published timeline
• Develop and record advanced journal entries covering estimates, timing adjustments, and cost allocations
• Complete periodic general ledger reconciliations and substantiate each balance with organized documentation
• Examine period-over-period fluctuations and articulate the operational factors behind them
• Administer close calendars, task trackers, and hand-off protocols as the function continues to scale
• Evaluate the close cycle for inefficiencies and propose remedies that reduce turnaround while preserving accuracy
• Provide a final quality review of monthly financial results prior to distribution to leadership
• Apply GAAP and internal policy consistently, maintaining control requirements throughout each cycle
• Compile recurring reporting packages along with the underlying supporting schedules
• Prepare audit deliverables and respond to inquiries from internal and external reviewers
• Advance assigned workstreams through the annual close and preparation of year-end financial statements
• Coordinate with departments outside of accounting to obtain the inputs required for a complete close

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4+ years of accounting experience across public, industry, or a combination of both preferred
• CPA (can be in progress) and/or MBA preferred
• Demonstrated hands-on ownership of close activities
• Proven capacity to manage concurrent deadlines without compromising accuracy
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including large data set analysis and account substantiation
• Working knowledge of a large-scale ERP platform
• Effective communicator capable of engaging confidently with non-financial stakeholders
• Collaborative, even-tempered approach and a genuine team-first orientation
