Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Accountant with 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience to support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, fixed assets, AR/AP reporting, and audit and tax activities.

In this role you will prepare and post journal entries, perform reconciliations, maintain fixed asset subledger, and assist with audits and state tax filings. Strong Excel skills and U.S. GAAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills — Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Experience with fixed assets, AR/AP reconciliations, and state tax compliance.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an Accountant with at least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience to support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, fixed assets, AR/AP reporting, and audit and tax activities.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger & Close

• Prepare and post journal entries for corporate and operational transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations and detailed GL analysis.
• Reconcile bank and payroll activity to the general ledger.
• Support the monthly and year-end close processes.

Fixed Assets

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger.
• Record asset additions, disposals, and other fixed asset activity.
• Maintain supporting documentation for fixed asset transactions.
• Reconcile AR and AP subledgers to the general ledger.
• Analyze customer aging and bad debt reserves.
• Prepare customer-related reconciliations and financial reports.

Expenses & Reconciliations

• Review employee expense and credit card transactions for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Reconcile credit card activity and employee reimbursements.
• Prepare analytical reports for management.

Audit & Tax

• Assist with annual and other external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Support state tax filings, registrations, sales tax, withholding, and related compliance activities.

Other Accounting Support

• Assist with accounting projects, process improvements, and research.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Provide additional support to the Finance team as needed.
