Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute assigned aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including journal entry preparation, review, posting, and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses while proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Partner with finance, operations, and other cross-functional teams to support business activities and resolve accounting matters.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and explaining accounting conclusions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency while supporting system enhancements and automation initiatives.
  • Assist with interpretation and application of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to staff accountants as appropriate.

The Senior Accountant applies advanced accounting knowledge to manage assigned accounting areas, lead components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, and support financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. This role partners cross-functionally, supports internal and external audits, and contributes to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
