Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established manufacturing organization in the Smithfield, NC area to hire a Senior Accountant. This position plays a key role in the accounting and financial reporting process while partnering closely with operational and finance leadership. The role is fully onsite in Smithfield, NC, five days per week.

The ideal candidate is analytical and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment. Pay ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting/finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle, SAP or Infor Syteline required.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter journal entries as part of the month-end close process
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules
• Review variances and provide explanations as part of the month-end close review
• Provide forecast updates throughout the month for specific expense categories
• Execute internal controls on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Maintain daily management reporting related to sales
• Generate and distribute invoices to customers
• Post payments and reconcile cash
• Monitor customer accounts for timely payment and follow up on past-due invoices
• Implement effective collection strategies to reduce aged receivables
• Prepare working capital reports for management on a weekly basis
• Support audit requests
• Other duties assigned

Key Responsibilities

• Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with an Associate degree.


• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.


• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.


• Experience with Oracle, SAP, Infor Syteline, or similar ERP platforms is required.


• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.


• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
