Job summary

The Addison Group is seeking an experienced accountant in Purcellville, VA to manage monthly close processes and complex reconciliations. This role emphasizes accurate balance sheet checks, WIP analysis, and compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong month-end close skills, and a track record of maintaining precise financial reporting packages.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong month-end close experience required.
• Extensive balance sheet reconciliation experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations across assigned accounts.
• Review reconciliations prepared by other team members prior to Controller review.
• Prepare and analyze monthly Work-in-Progress schedules.
• Tie job cost and billing activity to revenue recognition and reconcile WIP activity to the general ledger.
• Reconcile prepaid accounts and record monthly amortization.
• Record and reconcile depreciation and amortization activity.
• Support lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
• Research and resolve reconciling items and account variances.
• Prepare journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, leases, WIP, and cost-in-excess-of-billings activity.
• Support the Controller with month-end close activities and close checklist items.
• Maintain and improve monthly financial reporting packages.
• Prepare flash reporting for leadership ahead of the full monthly close.
• Build and maintain KPI scorecards and ad hoc financial reports.

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities
