Job summary

National Material L.P. is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Rosemont, Illinois corporate office. The role supports monthly, quarterly, and yearly close activities, reporting, and accounting operations under the Controller.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 4+ years of experience, and familiarity with U.S. GAAP and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365). CPA progress is preferred but not required. Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of U.S. GAAP and current accounting developments.
• Advanced Excel skills including data modeling, pivot tables, formulas, and large datasets.
• High attention to detail with strong organization and time management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication across functions.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close process with journal entries, reconciliations, consolidation and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting packages, including consolidated statements.
• Analyze revenue, COGS, and inventory to identify variances and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts across entities and ledgers.
• Support budgeting/forecasting and follow-up on variances.
• Drive process improvements and internal controls through automation.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects.

Position Summary

We are seeking a talented & dynamic individual to fill the position of Senior Accountantin our new corporate office located in Rosemont, Illinois. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting our accounting and reporting function in performing the monthly, quarterly and yearly activities. The position reports to the NMLP Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidation and variance analysis
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, including consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze revenue, cost of goods sold, and inventory to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts across multiple entities and ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including review of business unit submissions and follow-up on variances
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed

Required Skills:

• Good understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to stay current with accounting developments
• Advanced Excel skills, including data modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, and large dataset management
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Accounting concentration required if not an accounting degree)
• CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred but not required
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including hands‑on involvement in month‑end close
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (e.g., steel) preferred but not required
• Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 or similar) required
