SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
AirSea Packing Group, Inc is an established and successful shipping, storage, and logistics company in Long Island City, NY. We are seeking: a full-time, senior accountant with flexible availability to join our extraordinary team!

This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting, and the ability to manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal departments to ensure accurate financial records and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting & Financial Management:
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate month-end and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct periodic financial reviews and variance analyses, providing insights to management.
Revenue, Receivables & Accounting:
- Summarize receivables, generate aging reports, and manage bad debt allowances.
- Work with collections to monitor and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Assist with developing and implementing payable procedures for approval of invoices.
- Support long-term accounting projects to maximize efficiency as the company grows.
- Liaise with our CFO to continue to improve and drive efficiencies.
Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement accounting process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with financial reporting inquiries, audits, and tax filings, coordinating with external professionals as needed.
- Ensure timely filing for sales/use and franchise tax forms.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT REQUIREMENTS:
- PREFERRED; Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field.
- 10+ years of General Ledger and financial accounting analysis experience.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; SAGE, Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Results oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Effective and efficient time management and organization skills.
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
- Ability to work cross-departmentally.
