Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years applying ASC 606.

Senior Revenue Accountant
Location: United States, Fully Remote
Job Type: Full-time

We’re hiring a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing finance team and lead critical efforts in revenue recognition and compliance. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring revenue is accurately recognized under ASC 606, partnering closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and other teams to support a fast-growing SaaS or subscription-based business.

What you will do:

• Perform detailed contract reviews to identify performance obligations and apply appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for revenue and deferred revenue during monthly close
• Collaborate with Sales and Legal on non-standard deal structures and contract modifications
• Provide revenue reporting, analytics, and audit support for internal and external stakeholders
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within revenue operations
• Ensure strong internal controls across the Order-to-Cash cycle
• Partner cross-functionally with billing, collections, sales ops, and FP&A to ensure revenue accuracy
• Prepare schedules and documentation to support annual audits and internal audits related to revenue.
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years applying ASC 606
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition principles
• Experience working in SaaS, software, or subscription-based companies
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs)
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and written communication
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage competing priorities

Bonus Points

• Public accounting background, especially in audit or advisory services
• Familiarity with ASC 340-40 (capitalization of contract costs)
