WithumSmith+Brown seeks a Senior Accountant to join our Business Enterprise Advisors (BEA) team in New York, NY. This hybrid role requires three days in the office to collaborate with clients and colleagues.

The BEA group delivers tax, assurance and advisory services to private and public companies with a single point of contact. You will analyze financial statements, guide cost and revenue improvements, and mentor engagement staff while coordinating with tax, assurance and advisory teams to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field required.
• CPA license preferred or actively pursuing CPA.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or tax practice.
• Experience handling high volumes of financial statements with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, assess risks, and suggest cost reductions or revenue enhancements.
• Review financial statements and compilations for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with tax, assurance and advisory groups to serve clients.
• Provide training, mentoring and guidance to engagement staff and managers.

But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How You’ll Spend Your Time:Analyzing financial statements, assessing risks, and providing recommendations on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximizationIdentifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and suggesting improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costsProviding guidance, training and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication with the engagement partner and managerReviewing and conducting financial statements reviews and compilationCollaborating cross-functionally with our tax, assurance and accounting, and advisory groups to assist with opportunities to fully service the clientsRemaining current on technical and industry developments and standards, while evaluating the potential impact on clients' business and financial positionThe Kind of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field of studyCPA license preferred, or working towards CPA certificationMinimum of 3 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or a tax consulting practice, food & beverage industry experience is a plusExperience working with a high volume of financial statements with tight deadlinesStrong technical accounting background along with a curiosity and willingness to stay current on all key law changesExcellent analytical, organizational, project management, and technical skillsExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationshipsStrong training and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s managementThe compensation for this position ranges from $75,000-$85,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
