Withum in East Brunswick, NJ, seeks a Senior Accountant to join our BEA team in a hybrid role (3 days in the office) across Lincolnshire, IL; New York, NY; East Brunswick, NJ or Whippany, NJ. The BEA group provides tax, assurance and advisory services to private and public companies, offering one point of contact for business needs.

Our professionals combine accounting, tax planning, and business management services to help clients grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field.
• CPA license preferred or working towards CPA certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or tax consulting practice.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing financial statements, assessing risks, and providing recommendations on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.
• Identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and suggesting improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Providing guidance, training and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication with the engagement partner and manager.
• Reviewing and conducting financial statements reviews and compilation.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with our tax, assurance and accounting, and advisory groups to assist with opportunities to fully service the clients.
• Remaining current on technical and industry developments and standards, while evaluating the potential impact on clients' business and financial position.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

The Kind of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a business-related field of study
• CPA license preferred, or working towards CPA certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a local or mid-sized CPA firm or a tax consulting practice, food & beverage industry experience is a plus
• Experience working with a high volume of financial statements with tight deadlines
• Strong technical accounting background along with a curiosity and willingness to stay current on all key law changes
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and technical skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Strong training and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management

The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000-$85,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
