Job summary

Amiseq Inc. is hiring to strengthen our AI-assisted accounting evaluation framework in Mountain View.

The role focuses on turning customer needs into explicit use cases, outlining how workflows and review requirements differ for business owners, bookkeepers, accountants, and finance leads. You will define accounting correctness, specify calculations, assumptions, and final QuickBooks Online records, and assist in developing test scenarios with scoring rubrics.

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience supporting small and midsize businesses across multiple clients or industries.
• Working proficiency with QBO, including recording and reviewing transactions, reconciling accounts, and interpreting financial reports.
• Ability to independently verify accounting outcomes in QBO and investigate discrepancies.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with spreadsheets and structured datasets.
• Ability to translate ambiguous customer requests into explicit requirements, assumptions, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to explain accounting reasoning clearly to accounting professionals and non-accountants.
• Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to test behavior critically and systematically.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams.

Job description

• Identify and prioritize valuable workflows. Translate customer needs into practical use cases and assess opportunities based on customer value, frequency, complexity, and accounting risk.
• Represent different user personas. Define how workflows, explanations, and review requirements should differ for business owners, bookkeepers, external accountants, and finance leads.
• Define accounting correctness. Specify expected calculations, accounting treatments, assumptions, supporting evidence, and final QuickBooks Online (QBO) records. Recognize when multiple treatments are acceptable or additional information is needed.
• Assist in developing realistic evaluations. Create representative business scenarios, test datasets, reference answers, and scoring criteria. Include incomplete records, conflicting information, exceptions, and multi-step workflows.
• Verify completed outcomes. Review both the agent's response and the resulting accounting records. Confirm that requested actions were completed correctly, records reconcile, and explanations accurately describe what happened.
• Diagnose failures and guide improvements. Identify accounting errors, missing steps, unsupported conclusions, and confusing interactions. Turn findings into reproducible examples and actionable requirements for technical teams.
• Define appropriate controls. Help establish when an agent can proceed, should ask a clarifying question, needs approval, or should refer an issue for professional review.
• Improve the overall experience. Review how agents communicate findings, explain decisions, handle exceptions, and help users understand the next step.

Skills:

• Substantial hands‑on accounting or bookkeeping experience supporting small and midsize businesses, ideally across multiple clients or industries.
• Working proficiency with QBO, including recording and reviewing transactions, reconciling accounts, and interpreting financial reports.
• Ability to independently verify accounting outcomes in QBO and investigate discrepancies.

• Familiarity with AI evaluation, scoring rubrics, or reviewing AI-generated financial analysis.
