Job summary

Professional Search Group is partnering with a growing investment management firm to hire a Senior Accountant in Los Angeles. You will support monthly close, financial reporting and audit processes while contributing to growth and NetSuite improvements. Hybrid work with two days in the office is expected.

The ideal candidate has public accounting exposure followed by corporate accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in NetSuite and Excel.

Qualifications

• Public accounting experience followed by 1–2 years in corporate/private-industry accounting ideal.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations and audit support.
• Proactive, detail-oriented self-starter in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations and management reporting.
• Assist with client billing and management/performance-fee calculations.
• Support the annual financial statement audit and respond to audit requests.
• Analyze investment performance and client information used in billing calculations.
• Maintain accurate supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
• Assist with budgeting, reporting and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support enhancements to the NetSuite system.

Professional Search Group (PSG) is partnering with a rapidly growing investment management firm to hire a Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong public accounting foundation and corporate accounting experience who wants greater exposure, mentorship and career growth.

The Senior Accountant will join a lean accounting team and play an important role in supporting the firm’s continued growth and international expansion. This is a broad corporate and management-company accounting position—not a traditional fund-accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
• Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations and management reporting
• Assist with client billing and management/performance-fee calculations
• Support the annual financial statement audit and respond to audit requests
• Analyze investment performance and client information used in billing calculations
• Maintain accurate supporting schedules and accounting documentation
• Assist with budgeting, reporting and financial analysis
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Support continued enhancements to the firm’s recently implemented NetSuite system
• Partner closely with senior accounting and finance leadership on special projects

Qualifications

• Public accounting experience followed by at least 1–2 years of corporate/private-industry accounting experience ideal. Will consider someone coming straight from public accounting or someone with 3+ years of industry experience without the public accounting
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations and audit support
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with detailed financial data
• Experience with client billing, management fees, performance fees or complex fee calculations is highly desirable
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is strongly preferred
• Investment or asset-management experience is preferred, but broader financial-services or complex corporate accounting experience will be considered
• NetSuite experience is a plus
• Proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who can succeed in a fast-paced, growing environment
• Ability to work in the Los Angeles office two days per week
