Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Senior Accountant for a fully remote, long-term contract in the U.S. market. You will support month-end close, prepare management reports, and assist a NetSuite ERP implementation while transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop.

The role requires strong month-end close experience, high independence in a fast-paced remote environment, and comfort with FloQast and ASC 815-related activities. Duration through Q1 2027 with no guaranteed conversion.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis and close activities.

• Work within QuickBooks Desktop while the company transitions to NetSuite.
• Assist with the NetSuite ERP implementation and cutover, including data validation, reconciliations and opening-balance activities.
• Support the FloQast implementation for month-end close management and reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and close processes.
• Partner with leadership on special projects and day-to-day accounting needs.

Job description

Location: Remote (U.S. Based) | Schedule: Full-time, 40 Hours/Week, Fully Remote | Compensation: $34–$48/Hour

Overview

A high-growth food and beverage/consumer products company is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a fully remote, long-term contract. The need arises from a maternity leave coverage as well as increased demands from several significant accounting and systems initiatives, with the assignment expected to continue through at least Q1 2027. This is a contract role today; while a permanent opportunity could potentially develop based on future business needs and mutual fit, there is no guarantee of conversion.

What you'll do

• Support the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis and close activities
• Prepare and support recurring financial and management reporting
• Work within QuickBooks Desktop while the company transitions to NetSuite
• Assist with the NetSuite ERP implementation and cutover, including data validation, reconciliations and opening-balance activities
• Support the implementation of FloQast for month-end close management and account reconciliations
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting and close processes
• Potentially assist with commodity hedge accounting and ASC 815-related activities
• Partner with accounting and finance leadership on special projects and day-to-day accounting needs

Required qualifications

• Strong hands-on month-end close experience
• Solid experience with journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis
• QuickBooks Desktop experience required
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment

Preferred qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
• NetSuite experience strongly preferred, particularly experience working through an ERP implementation or transition
• Food & beverage, CPG or consumer products experience strongly preferred
• ERP implementation, conversion or cutover experience is a strong plus
• FloQast experience is a plus
• Hedge accounting, derivative accounting and/or ASC 815 experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation and benefits

• Pay: $34–$48/hour, depending on experience
• Approximate annualized equivalent based on 40 Hours/Week: $34,000–$48,000
• Schedule: 40 hours/week
• Fully Remote – U.S. Based
• Duration: Expected through at least Q1 2027
