Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to manage accounting and planning preparation, support accounting functions, reconcile accounts, coordinate activities, and lead project and process improvements. The role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, FCA, and internal standards, along with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries with documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FCA, and internal standards.
  • Verify, code, and enter invoice data.
  • Handle accounts payable, receivable, and fixed assets duties.
  • Reconcile client cash accounts and maintain thresholds.
  • Maintain Board of Directors files, including payments and tax documents.
  • Assist in balancing systems and cash processes.
  • Research and escalate issues for resolution.
  • Prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Process accounts payable, receivable, and fixed assets data.
  • Reconcile assigned accounts regularly.
  • Identify and resolve reconciling items, escalate as needed.
  • Coordinate with clients and departments to resolve issues.
  • Prepare correction journal entries during reconciliation.
  • Guide team members on cash reconciliation.
  • Resolve client questions promptly.
  • Perform complex accounting calculations.
  • Participate in training and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with auditors and departments on requests.
  • Assist with ICFR controls related to access and vendor reviews.
  • Monitor close cycle processes for AP and FA.
  • Participate in project teams and document procedures.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives as SME.
  • Communicate process changes to stakeholders.
  • Act as liaison between Accounting and Board of Directors.
  • Respond to client requests via various channels.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues, recommend solutions.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years at Senior level.
  • 2+ years of experience in large companies (>200mil).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-lookups, Macros).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with general ledger, month-end, quarter-end, reporting, 1099, and internal controls.
Work Environment

Remote role with quarterly travel to St. Paul, paid for. Office in Downtown St. Paul, with at least one in-office day weekly if local. Long-term with a 10% performance bonus. Involves significant project work, including DNA implementation.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly rate: $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
