Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and roll forwards for leases.
• Classify operating vs. finance leases accurately.
• Coordinate with other departments on new leases and accounting impacts.
• Support month-end close and year-end close; assist auditors.
• Identify process improvements and control enhancements.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will oversee all aspects of lease accounting and reporting in compliance with ASC 842. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit support, while serving as the subject-matter expert for operating and finance leases across the organization.

Essential Job Duties

• Own end-to-end lease accounting under ASC 842, including:
• Initial lease recognition
• Lease modifications, remeasurements, and terminations
• Right-of-use (ROU) asset and lease liability calculations
• Maintain and administer the lease accounting system, LeaseQuery
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll forwards related to leases
• Ensure accurate classification of operating vs. finance leases
• Partner with other departments to review new lease agreements and identify accounting impacts and ensure proper setup
• Support month-end and year-end close
• Serve as point of contact for external auditors for lease-related inquiries
• Identify opportunities to improve lease accounting processes, documentation, and controls
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting
• Strong hands-on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

• Experience with Oracle Fusion
• Experience with LeaseQuery
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-location environment
