We are seeking individuals with strong experience in lease accounting (ASC 842) to join a fantastic Finance and Accounting team. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting and reporting requirements associated with the company’s portfolio of office and distribution facilities.

The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on lease accounting experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to work cross‑functionally with Finance, Real Estate, Legal, Operations, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting for the company’s lease portfolio in accordance with ASC 842, including operating and finance leases.
• Maintain accurate lease records for office, distribution, and other facilities.
• Review and analyze new leases, amendments, renewals, terminations, and other contractual changes to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Perform lease calculations, including right-of-use (ROU) assets, lease liabilities, amortization, and interest expense.
• Prepare and record monthly lease‑related journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain lease schedules and supporting documentation and ensure the accuracy and completeness of lease data.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to lease accounting.
• Assist with financial statement disclosures and supporting schedules related to leases.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, Procurement, Operations, and other business partners to obtain and validate lease information.
• Monitor lease modifications, renewals, extensions, and other changes that may impact accounting treatment.
• Support internal and external audits by providing lease schedules, calculations, documentation, and other requested information.
• Identify opportunities to improve lease accounting processes, controls, reporting, and documentation.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of lease accounting systems and technology.
• Research and interpret accounting guidance related to leases and ensure compliance with applicable GAAP requirements.
• Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant hands‑on lease accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of ASC 842 and lease accounting principles.
• Experience accounting for real estate leases, ideally involving office and/or distribution facilities.
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Experience working with lease accounting software or ERP systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
