Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions in Concord, CA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, a solid GL/GAAP background, and strong Excel skills to analyze accounts and support budgeting and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Intermediate Excel skills: PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for two entities
• Own the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
• Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances to identify trends and opportunities
• Reconcile accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other key balance sheet accounts
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
• Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures
• Partner with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses for leadership
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting initiatives as needed

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $89,000 - $98,000 annually
