Job summary

J2T Recruiting is seeking a Senior Accountant to work closely with the VP of Finance, CFO and executive leadership in a high-visibility role that bridges fund operations, financial reporting, and firm strategy.

You will partner with external auditors, prepare detailed statements and capital calls, and deliver analyses to senior management. This on-site position in Denver offers mentorship, strong growth, and access to top investment professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA track is a plus.
• 1 to 3 years of progressive audit experience within a Big 4 public accounting firm.
• Strong core understanding of financial reporting, fund processes, or tax matters.
• High degree of intellectual curiosity, hunger to learn, and an eagerness to develop executive-level finance skills.
• Strong tech skills, including high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across a tight-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, standardize, and execute the monthly and quarterly financial reporting close processes alongside fund administrators.
• Prepare quarterly investor capital allocations, financial statements, individual partner capital statements, capital calls, and fund distributions.
• Partner directly with external auditors for annual fund audits and assist with tax oversight, including K-1s, 1099s, and tax filings.
• Assist with regulatory filings, private valuation processes, quarterly investor letters, and annual meeting presentations.
• Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis and support directly for executive management, investor relations, and investment team members.

• Target Compensation: $100K – $115K base salary + 15% target bonus.
