Qualifications

• 1-3 years of public accounting experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting fundamentals.
• Exposure to investment management, private equity, or fund accounting a plus.
• Tax experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Coordinate and improve close process with third-party fund administrators.
• Prepare quarterly investor capital allocations, financial statements, and partner capital statements.
• Coordinate capital calls and distributions.
• Work with external auditors during annual fund audits.
• Assist with tax matters including K-1s and 1099s.
• Manage accounting for co-investments and other vehicles.
• Coordinate regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
• Support investor communications and annual investor meeting materials.
• Assist with private investment valuation processes.
• Partner with teams on ad hoc reporting and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and controls.

A well-established private investment firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance and accounting team. The firm invests across both public and private markets and offers exposure to a sophisticated and diverse investment platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to transition into the investment management space and gain broad exposure across fund accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, tax, audit, valuations, and finance operations.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with senior members of the finance team as well as external fund administrators, auditors, tax professionals, investor relations, and investment professionals.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Coordinate and continually improve the monthly and quarterly close process in partnership with third-party fund administrators.
• Prepare quarterly investor capital allocations, financial statements, and individual partner capital statements.
• Prepare and coordinate capital calls and distributions.
• Work closely with external auditors throughout the annual fund financial statement audit process.
• Assist with tax-related matters, including K-1s, 1099s, and tax returns.
• Manage accounting and reporting for co-investment and other investment vehicles.
• Coordinate regulatory filings and compliance reporting as needed.
• Assist with quarterly investor communications and annual investor meeting materials.
• Support monthly and quarterly private investment valuation processes.
• Partner with Investor Relations, investment professionals, and senior management on ad hoc reporting and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting procedures, and internal controls.
• The position will report directly to a senior member of the firm's finance leadership team.

Experience & Qualifications

• 1-3 years of public accounting experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or progress toward a CPA is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting fundamentals.
• Exposure to investment management, private equity, alternative investments, or fund accounting is a plus.
• Tax experience is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong academic background.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
