About the Role
A rapidly growing multi-strategy credit and alternatives investment firm is seeking a Fund Accountant / Associate to join our Fund Accounting team in Midtown Manhattan. This is a newly created headcount on a growing five-person team, offering strong mentorship, complex investment exposure, and meaningful career runway at a firm entering a significant AUM growth phase.
You’ll work across a highly diverse platform spanning structured credit, direct lending, insurance solutions, an ETF, and a newly launching CLO. Responsibilities range from NAV oversight and financial reporting to capital activity, performance reporting, and fund oversight—providing broad technical exposure that few firms of our size can offer.

What You’ll Do
NAV, P&L & Investor Allocations
- Oversee the funds' NAV finalization process, including P&L reconciliation and allocation to investors across open- and closed-end private fund structures
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with third-party fund administrators and internal teams
- Approve client capital account statements generated by third-party administrators
Fee, Capital & Expense Activity
- Review and reconcile the calculation and payment of management and carried interest / incentive fees in accordance with fund governing documents
- Review capital calls, distribution allocations, and notifications
- Prepare and review expense allocations, operating expense budgets, and vendor expense payments
- Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements and annual audited financial statements under U.S. GAAP
- Coordinate with external auditors for the year-end audit process
Performance Reporting & Forecasting
- Prepare monthly attribution performance reporting for senior management
- Prepare and review monthly fund forecasts, NAV performance estimates, and other ad hoc analyses
Regulatory, Investor & Cross-Functional Support
- Prepare inputs for annual regulatory reporting, investor letters, custom client reporting, and firm-level reporting
- Liaise with Operations, Investor Relations, Management Reporting, Tax, and Legal and Compliance teams
- Review fund legal documents and support related workstreams
Process Improvement & Strategic Projects
- Streamline and build processes and templates to support the firm's growth
- Engage in special projects and firm strategic initiatives
- Assist with the creation and implementation of procedures, workflows, and controls
What You Bring
- 3+ years of public accounting experience
- Big 4 or large public accounting firm background
- CPA or CPA parts passed required
- Alternative asset management or financial services client exposure preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn across asset classes and functions
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow into broader responsibilities over time
