Job summary

Hemans. is seeking an entry/junior-level accounting professional to join a world-renowned private equity team in the Cleveland area.

You will build a strong foundation in investment and operating-company accounting while working closely with experienced accounting leadership. You’ll gain hands-on exposure across AP/AR, reconciliations, fixed assets, general ledger accounting, and the month-end close, with opportunities to participate in audits and tax processes.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Prior experience with accounting, investment, real estate, or asset-based businesses is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A willingness to take ownership and learn beyond the basic requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations while developing strong accounting judgment
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor inquiries and aging analysis
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Maintain the general ledger and contribute to accurate, timely financial reporting
• Reconcile fixed assets and assist with capital expenditure analysis
• Assist with month-end close and gain hands-on experience across the full close cycle
• Support annual information reporting and related tax processes
• Prepare supporting documentation for external audits
• Partner with Controllers and senior leadership on accounting projects and process improvements
• Identify issues, research discrepancies, and help drive them through resolution
