Job summary

The Bolton Group is seeking a Senior Accountant in Chicago. The role focuses on monthly close processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. The ideal candidate will be organized and apply an analytical mindset to complex accounting challenges.

You will lead month-end close, prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, support SOX controls, and collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with internal policies and US GAAP.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience with US GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with month-end close and journal entries.
• SOX controls experience and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple entities.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries including revenue recognition.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
• Own SOX controls, including evidence retention and remediation efforts.
• Support internal and external audits and walkthroughs.

Title- Senior Accountant

The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

• Lead assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across multiple
• entities
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, including revenue recognition, intercompany, inventory,
• accruals, leases, and manufacturing-related accounting
• Perform and review account reconciliations ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper
• documentation
• Drive timely resolution of reconciling items and unusual variances
• Support and review OneStream reporting and submissions
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies Internal Controls & SOX Compliance
• Own and execute key SOX controls, including documentation and evidence retention
• Partner with internal and external auditors to support audit requests and walkthroughs
• Identify control gaps and support remediation efforts

Qualifications

• 3+ years' of professional accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
