Job summary

Sherpa is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen our client's accounting team by ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting the monthly close, and managing key balance sheet accounts across medical and laboratory subsidiaries.

You will lead monthly close activities, reconcile cash, payables, liabilities and equity, support consolidation under GAAP, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and support new business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong technical accounting skills and corporate accounting experience.
• Experience working with multiple entities and GAAP consolidation.
• Comfort managing various balance sheet accounts and supporting month-end procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities, analyzing P&L and preparing financial reports.
• Own and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, including cash, payables, liabilities, and equity.
• Support consolidation in accordance with GAAP across multi-entity structures.
• Manage accounting for areas such as software development costs, leases, shareholder debt, and bank debt.
• Collaborate on process improvements, helping adapt accounting procedures for expanding business needs.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and assist with audits as needed.
• Support implementing efficiencies within the accounting function, with potential to take ownership of accounts payable.
