Job summary

TalentBridge is partnering with a growing organization to hire a Senior Corporate Accountant. You will oversee WIP schedules, project costing, and revenue recognition, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.

The role emphasizes close collaboration with accounting leadership, audits, and process improvements across the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in accounting, strong WIP and ASC 606 experience, and excellent Excel/ERP skills, with CPA being a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required and 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• WIP accounting, project costing, and revenue recognition experience strongly preferred.
• ASC 606 experience and percentage-of-completion accounting highly desirable.
• Background in construction/contracting or project-based industries preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems; CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and reconcile WIP schedules including costs, billings, and revenue.
• Support percentage-of-completion accounting and ASC 606 compliance.
• Analyze project profitability, costs, margins, and billings variances.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for month-end to year-end closes.
• Collaborate with FP&A on variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies with operations to improve financial visibility.
• Assist with external audits and provide supporting documentation.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies; streamline processes.

Senior Corporate Accountant

TalentBridge is partnering with a growingorganization seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join its expanding corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in Work in Process (WIP) accounting, project costing, and revenue recognition to play an important role in strengthening financial reporting and supporting continued organizational growth.

Working closely with accounting leadership, this individual will oversee key accounting activities, analyze project profitability, and help improve financial processes and controls. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and reconcile Work in Process (WIP) schedules, including project costs, billings, recognized revenue, and estimated costs to complete.
• Support percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606.
• Analyze project profitability, cost overruns, margin fluctuations, underbillings, and overbillings.
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Review financial activity and collaborate with FP&A on variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Partner with operational and finance teams to investigate discrepancies and improve project-level financial visibility.
• Assist with external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and improve operational efficiency.
• Support accounting system enhancements, process improvements, and special projects as the organization continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including strong general ledger accounting and financial close responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Hands-on WIP accounting, project/job costing, and revenue recognition experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and ASC 606 highly desirable.
• Background in construction, contracting, installation, or other project-based industries preferred.
• Experience analyzing project margins, cost-to-complete estimates, contract assets and liabilities, and underbillings/overbillings is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate financial findings effectively.
• CPA designation or interest in pursuing certification is a plus.
