Base pay range

$72,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary Range: $72,000 – $90,000 annually

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Kern County. This is a direct hire, onsite position responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in GAAP, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach to accounting operations. This position includes supervisory responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to the development of accounting policies and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and ensure the accuracy and integrity of operations data
• Lead and support the month-end closing process, including reconciliations and analysis
• Supervise and review intercompany reconciliations, daily bank reconciliations, and monthly accruals and amortizations
• Prepare the monthly financial reporting package
• Support audits in collaboration with the Controller and CFO
• Oversee timely and accurate vendor payments and AR/cash transactions
• Delegate A/P, A/R, and data entry responsibilities to clerical staff
• Maintain and update cost accounting systems and documentation
• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls and accounting procedures
• Participate in special projects and contribute to process improvements
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience
• Solid understanding of balance sheets, income statements, and GAAP
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in accounting functions
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Familiarity with agriculture or farming-related accounting is a plus

This is not a role for junior accountants looking to move up; must have solid previous Sr. Accountant/supervisory experience.
