Senior Accountant

We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant opportunity at a highly successful technology company located in Boston, MA. The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and routine accounting transactions, and provide accounting support during an ERP implementation. The ideal candidate will have 5-8+ years of strong general ledger and month-end close experience, along with hands‑on Sage Intacct expertise.

This is a 4-month contract opportunity, paying between $55-$60/hour (depending on experience). This role supports a hybrid work model out of their office in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and routine accounting transactions.
• Support the month-end close process by preparing accruals, schedules, reconciliations, and other required close activities.
• Perform account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and research and resolve discrepancies.
• Support Sage Intacct ERP implementation, including testing, transaction validation, troubleshooting, and accounting process continuity.
• Review subledger-to-general ledger activity, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain daily accounting operations while ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Maintain financial data integrity and internal controls.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience involving ownership of month-end close processes.
• Experience working in technology, professional services, or a related industry.
• 2+ years of experience utilizing Sage Intacct is required.
• Proven experience with month-end close processes and general ledger accounting, including accruals, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting practices.
• Ability to independently investigate accounting issues, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems, workflows, and processes during an ERP implementation.
