Job summary

The Intersect Group is seeking a Senior Accountant (CPA) to join its corporate accounting team in the Greater Atlanta Area. This on-site, full-time role offers exposure to consolidation, reporting, and acquisition integration initiatives within a growing manufacturing client base.

Reporting to accounting leadership, you will manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and reconciliations while supporting audits and acquisition projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Active CPA license is required.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with large ERP systems is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH) and large data-set analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze general ledger activity across multiple units and locations.
• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
• Investigate variances and provide business insights with leadership teams.
• Support month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes.
• Assist with external reporting and financial statement analysis.
• Prepare audit schedules and support external audits.
• Participate in acquisition accounting and integration projects.
• Develop and maintain financial reports using Excel and BI tools.
• Review staff work and guide junior accountants.

About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing national manufacturer is seeking a Senior Accountant (CPA) to join its corporate accounting team. This newly created position was driven by recent business growth and acquisitions, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization with significant expansion initiatives underway.

Reporting to accounting leadership, this role will be heavily involved in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, audit support, and acquisition integration activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting foundation, experience working in complex business environments, and the ability to analyze large volumes of financial data while partnering with operational leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger activity across multiple business units and operating locations.
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Investigate financial variances and partner with operational and finance leaders to provide business insights.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Assist with external reporting requirements and financial statement analysis.
• Prepare audit schedules and support annual external audit activities.
• Participate in acquisition accounting, integration efforts, and related technical accounting projects.
• Develop and maintain financial reports and analyses utilizing advanced Excel and reporting tools.
• Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide guidance as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Support ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Active CPA license.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience within a large corporate environment and/or public accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience working with large ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and large data-set analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

Preferred

• Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Experience supporting publicly traded or large, complex organizations.
• Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, integration activities, or technical accounting projects.
• Experience with Power BI, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms.
