Job description

In a world of noise, we find the signal — the pulse of potential. We weave the strands of talent, vision, and purpose into organizations that endure. Blending intelligence with intuition, we honor the human art of connection at the heart of every great company.

Signal & Strand is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Accounts Receivable (AR) to oversee the company’s full revenue cycle, including billing, cash application, collections, and project set-up. This role ensures that revenue transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with internal controls and service standards.

The AR Manager leads a team of supervisors and specialists—including the Collections Manager, Cash Application Supervisor, Billing Supervisor, and Project Set-Up Analyst—while driving process improvements, operational excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration.

This is a high‑impact role ideal for a hands‑on leader with deep AR expertise and strong operational instincts.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Revenue Cycle Management
  • Oversee all day‑to‑day Accounts Receivable operations, including billing, collections, project set‑up, and cash application.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, posting of payments, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and compliance across the entire AR lifecycle.
2. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and develop an AR team consisting of supervisors and specialists.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, team support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
3. Process Improvement & Internal Controls
  • Develop, refine, and implement AR policies and procedures to standardize workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and system optimization (Deltek Vision and BlackLine CASH/ARM preferred).
  • Maintain strong internal controls, including approval workflows and segregation of duties.
4. Reporting, Metrics & Analysis
  • Monitor and analyze AR KPIs including aging, DSO, unapplied cash, collections effectiveness, and dispute resolution.
  • Provide leadership with regular reporting and insights that inform cash flow and operational decisions.
  • Support forecasting and planning related to revenue cycles and working capital.
5. Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Serve as a key liaison between AR, Treasury, Project Accounting, FP&A, IT, and customer‑facing teams.
  • Collaborate to resolve complex payment issues, customer disputes, and cross‑team dependencies.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, or similar certification is a plus but not required.
Experience & Skills
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, billing, or revenue cycle operations.
  • Proven experience managing AR teams, supervisors, or multi‑functional revenue cycle groups.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (Deltek Vision preferred) and AR automation tools (BlackLine CASH/ARM preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • High commitment to customer service, operational accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Lead a critical financial function with significant influence on cash flow and operational performance.
  • Modernize AR processes and drive meaningful improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units and support strategic revenue cycle initiatives.
  • Join an organization that values leadership, innovation, and strong financial stewardship.

Base Compensation Range: $100,000 USD - $140,000 USD
