Palmer Johnson has a great opportunity for a full-time remote Senior Account Manager in their Power Generation Division! Join our Palmer Johnson team where you can make an impact.

Palmer Johnson is an industrial distribution company that has been serving customers in the drive train, engine, and power generation markets for over 45 years. We specialize in selling and servicing diesel and natural gas power generation systems for commercial and mission-critical applications. We serve the Oil & Gas as well as healthcare, manufacturing, data centers, financial, hospitality, utility, construction, and other power generation markets. Palmer Johnson is headquartered in Madison, WI, and operates in 14 states throughout the Midwest, Texas, and the Pacific Northwest.

The opportunity:

The Senior Account Manager position is responsible for sales and business development of Natural Gas and Diesel electric power generation products and services including generators, switchgear, control systems and service and maintenance contracts to Oil & Gas customers. In addition to directly selling, the Sr Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers throughout the industry. The Sr Account Manager will actively seek to grow the business by working directly with customers to solve their power generation and fleet management needs including product sizing and application guidance, product operation, maintenance and lifecycle management, training and customer support. Duties include but are not limited to product and brand promotion, specification interpretation, system design and engineering, proposal and pricing development, and customer relationship management.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years power generation experience in generator dealer sales, project management, and/or engineering (Required)
  • 10+ years sales experience in construction, electrical, commercial/ industrial markets
  • Excellent sales skills with an understanding of value-added selling
  • Demonstrated Business Development and Account Management Experience
  • Experience in CRM/Salesforce applications
  • Engineering Degree- Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical (preferred but not required)
  • Strong customer service orientation with a demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated electrical & mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and read drawings/prints/specifications
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
