What you will do

The National Accounts team exists to sell Mack Trucks, achieving assigned annual sales objectives and accelerating the growth of the rolling population. Optimizing operating leverage, delivering customer satisfaction, and creating value for our Mack dealer partners is important. The national fleet (customers) we serve have geographic requirements that can be best serviced by the consolidated services and business planning of the national accounts team.

National Account Managers are responsible for achieving annual sales objectives, delivering financial performance for their assigned portfolio, and optimizing customer satisfaction.

As a preferred candidate, you will have familiarity with Mack Sales tools and processes. You should be able to interact confidently with C-level executives and lower organizational levels. You bring a consultative approach with the ability to build executive-level quotations. You are an exceptional leader and team player, capable of providing timely and complete resolutions to problems. A record of sales success and CRM/pipeline management experience is required. You are a business professional with strong business and financial acumen, skilled in negotiating with customers and corporately.

This position can be located in any major U.S. city close to a large airport hub.

Who are you?

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Achieve assigned annual sales and gross profit objectives within the portfolio of assigned customers.
  • Fully engage in using our sales process and managing customer relationships, opportunity pipeline, and sales activities through our CRM.
  • Sell the full Mack offering of products and services, ensuring customers understand Mack’s capabilities.
  • Develop relationships and strategies to successfully acquire new sales.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including delivering professional executive-level presentations.
  • Negotiate sales transactions effectively.
  • Lead and follow up cross-functionally to resolve problems impacting customers.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency with software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management tools like Oracle.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver customer satisfaction and achieve sales and financial targets.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and administration of current sales policies.
  • Coordinate trade and trade-back information with the remarketing group to establish trade values and provide documentation.
  • Work with pricing colleagues to analyze, develop, and propose complex deals.
  • Have a broad understanding of finance instruments, including terms, types, and usage as they pertain to customers.
  • Manage relationships with body companies and other post-production entities to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Establish effective, ethical working relationships with customers, dealers, peers, and supporting departments to meet sales objectives.
  • Consistently exceed goals and objectives.
  • Use financial analysis to evaluate and act on strategic opportunities.
  • Resolve differences productively, often viewing conflicts as opportunities.
  • Build and deliver business solutions that provide customer value.
  • Quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results.
  • Create strategies that connect vision with action, demonstrating a passion for the success of Mack and its dealer partners.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, sales, accounting, business management, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Five to ten years of direct sales and account management experience.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce/CRM is preferred.
